Abstract

Soil column studies are reported with four groups of agrochemicals to know the leaching behaviour and depth of their movement in clayey, sandy and sandy loam soils over a period of 15 days. The first group consisted of seven organophosphate compounds, the second of a synthetic pyrethroid and two herbicides, the third of five pesticides that could be detected in LC-MS/MS and the fourth group of fertilizers. Leachates collected after 5, 10 and 15 days revealed the highest residue concentration in sandy followed by sandy loam and clayey soil. The depth wise residue retention was higher in clayey followed by sandy loam and sandy soils.
