The effect of pretilachlor on nitrate reductase activity and protein content in rice leaves and its relation to grain protein is reported. Pretilachlor @, 0.75 kg ha−1 led to an increase in nitrate reductase activity and protein content of rice leaves over the other treatments. In general, a positive correlation was observed between leaf nitrate reductase activity and grain protein content and leaf and grain protein contents.
