The Division of Agricultural Chemicals, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi 110012 has rendered yeoman's service to the national cause through its efforts and achievements in research and development, and education in agricultural chemicals during the fifty golden years of its existence. Nearly thirty industrial licensing of the products and technologies have been achieved, besides other several waiting commercializations. Significant contributions have been made in all the three thrust domains of research viz. development, formulation and safety aspects of agro chemicals. Its alumni occupy positions of eminence in various educational and research institutions and have done the Division proud through their achievements. This article is a tribute to the excellence achieved by it and provides a bird's overview of the significant contributions.
