Abstract

Persistence of deltamethrin in/on cowpea and its translocation from leaves to green pods and seeds at harvest was studied under field condition for two consecutive years. The crop was sprayed @ 12.5, 25.0 and 50 g ai/ha at pod formation stage after removing the pods. The dissipation followed the first order reaction with half-lives varying from 1.8 to 2.4 days. There was very little translocation of deltamethrin (<0.07 ppm) to green pods and no residues were detected in seeds at harvest.
