Application of pretilachlor @ 0.75 kg ha−1 in transplanted rice showed an increase in chlorophyll and sugar content of leaves. In rice grain, the total sugar content varied from 4.7 to 5.1 per cent with minimum and maximum values exhibited by control and pretilachlor 0.75 kg ha−1 treatments respectively.
