Abstract

Black scurf, a major cause of concern wherever potato is grown year after year, is managed mainly through seed treatment before planting. Five Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates were tested against Rhizoctonia solani in vitro and based on the results, P. aeruginosa 1 was further evaluated in the pot as well as field conditions. Reduction in disease incidence up to 21.14 and 15.55 per cent under the pot and field conditions respectively indicated little effect of P. aeruginosa 1 against R. solani of potato.
