The draft Pesticides Management Bill, 2017 has been overviewed and its salient features, contained in 8 chapters, have been highlighted chapter wise. Its salient novel features as compared with The Insecticides Act, 1968 and as highlighted by the official machinery are also presented. The concerns of the stakeholders to the new Bill, identified at a one-day brainstorming organized by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as also raised at varios other fora, are listed.
