Results on evaluation of insecticidal activity of sweet flag, Acorus calamus (L.) emulsifiable concentrate (SFEC) impregnated jute bags against Sitophilus oryzae (L.) and Callosobruchus maculatus (F.) are reported. The bags impregnated with SFEC caused 92.16 per cent mortality of S. oryzae at 10.0 per cent on 7th d after treatment (DAT) while 65.51, 83.33, 85.54 and 86.83 per cent mortality were recorded at 2.0, 4.0, 6.0 and 8.0 per cent of sweet flag EC formulation respectively. Jute bag impregnated with SFEC formulation showed 96.60 per cent mortality to C. maculatus at 10.0 per cent on 7th DAT while 60.00, 81.30, 81.30 and 84.00 per cent mortality were recorded at 2.0, 4.0, 6.0 and 8.0 per cent of SFEC formulation, respectively. For rice weevil, there was no progeny development in treatment of T5 (10 % SFEC) and T6 (1% Malathion 50 EC) upto 90 days. For pulse beetle least number of adults (8 nos) were emerged from the treatment of T5 (10 % SFEC) and T6 (1% Malathion 50 EC) upto 30 days when compared to untreated control.
