Results of two year field study on the effect of cymoxanil 8 per cent + mancozeb 64 per cent WP along with its 50 per cent WP, mancozeb, metiram+pyraclostrobin and zineb in reducing severity of downy mildew caused by Peronospora destructor, purple blotch caused by Alternaria porri and Stemphylium blight of onion revealed that the different tratments significantly reduced the disease severity. During the two season trials, cymoxanil+mancozeb at 3.5 g L−1 revealed respective per cent diseases index (PDI) values of 16.19 and 6.04;10.51 and 11.25, and 10.32 and 11.94 respectively against the three respective diseases, followed by the chemical treatment at 3 g L−1. The yield during the two seasons was 10.50 and 6.60 t ha−1 respectively at the 3.5 g dose. Overall, its different doses were either matching or superior than the other treatments.
