Field studies for two consecutive rabi seasons to assess the efficacy of pre-mix fungicide picoxystrobin 7.05 per cent + propiconazole 12.5 per cent w/v SC (175, 200 & 225 g aiha−1) in comparison with picoxystrobin 22.52 per cent w/w SC (100 g aiha−1), propiconazole 25 per cent w/w EC (125 g aiha−1) and metiram 55 per cent + pyraclostrobin 5 per cent WG (1050 g aiha−1) against purple blotch of onion caused by Alternaria porri revealed that three foliar applications of picoxystrobin + propiconazole w/v SC @ 200 g aiha−1 at 14 d interval were highly effective when applied as soon as the first symptoms of the disease appeared. The maximum bulb yield was obtained in this treatment.
