Persistence of imazethapyr in pigeon pea and soil under South Gujarat conditions were studied. The LOQ value of imazethapyr worked out for soil, plant and dry pod was 0.01, 0.025, and 0.005 µg g-1. When applied at 75 and 150 g ai ha-1, imazethapyr followed the first order dissipation kinetics with the half-life (DT50) of 8.7 and 9.9 days for soil and 7.7 and 6.3 days for plants, respectively. The residues of imazethapyr in pigeon pea plants and dry pods were below the quantification limit at the time of harvest. Therefore, pigeon pea is safer for human consumption.
