Abstract

The field experiments were conducted during two kharif seasons to determine the efficacy of sulfoxaflor 24 SC @ 60, 75, 90 and 105 g ai ha-1 along with profenophos 50 EC @ 750 g ai ha-1, imidacloprid 200 SL @ 25 g ai ha-1 and acetamiprid 20 SP @ 20 g ai ha-1 along with untreated control in a randomized block design with three replications. Sulfoxaflor @ 90 g ai ha-1 was found to be most effective against mealybug after 3, 7, and 10 days after spray. Seed cotton yield was also significantly higher in sulfoxaflor @ 90 g ai ha-1 (23.84 q ha-1) as compared to all other treatments. Sulfoxaflor was also found relatively safer to the predators and did not cause any phytotoxicity to the crop.
