Abstract

Among seven evaluated insecticides as seed treatment and soil application, imidacloprid 48 FS and thiamethoxam 30 FS applied @ 5.0 and 7.5 mL kg-1 seed was found effective in managing stem fly, M. sojae infestation in black gram and it reflected on yields. Maximum net profit was realized in the treatment of Imidacloprid 48 FS @ 7.5 mL kg-1 seed (Rs 14358 per ha) followed by thiamethoxam 30 FS @ 7.5 mL kg-1 seeds (Rs 14280 per ha). With respect to ICBR, the treatment of thiamethoxam 30 FS @ 5 mL kg-1 seed stood first by exhibiting ICBR 1:25.4 followed by thiamethoxam 30 FS @ 7.5 mL kg-1 seed (ICBR 1:22.5).
