Abstract

In the era of sustainable agriculture, insect pest management with ecofriendly pest management like female sex pheromones technique is most important. Therefore, present experiment was undertaken to determine the trapping efficacy of seven commercially available sex pheromone lures against fall armyworm (FAW) Spodoptera frugiperda, in fodder maize at Anand Agricultural University, Anand during the Rabi, 2021-22 and 2022-23. The lures evaluation was done using completely randomized design (CRD) with seven treatments and control along with three replications. The result showed that significantly higher number of male moth of S. frugiperda were captured by Army maize lure, which was at par with FAW lure, pheromate lure-FAW, FAW premium lure and fall armyworm lure. Data also showed that higher numbers of non-target moths were captured by the traps suspended with different pheromone lures.
