Abstract

A study was undertaken at Ranichera Tea Garden, Damdim, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, to assess the effectiveness of glufosinate ammonium 200 g L-1 SL in controlling weed flora in tea plantation during 2021-2022.There were seven treatments that were replicated thrice. The results revealed that the application of glufosinate ammonium 200 g L-1 SL at 500 g ai ha-1 has resulted in significantly lowest total weed density and dry weight and higher green leaf yield (43.8 q ha-1). This treatment had no significant impact on the overall population of fungus, bacteria and actinomycetes. Thus application of glufosinate ammonium 200 g L-1 SL at 500 g ai ha-1 was most effective in managing weed flora in tea plantation.
