In the study, polar and non-polar extracts of the fruits of P. longum and A. indica leaves were evaluated for nematicidal activity against Meloidogyne incognita under in vitro and pot conditions during 2021-22. Results revealed higher mortality of Meloidogyne incognita in the hexane (76.0%) and methanolic (68.7%) extracts of the fruits of P. longum, as compared to hexane (63.00%) and methanolic (56.0%) extracts of the leaves of A. indica at 1000 ppm after 96 h under laboratory conditions. These extracts were further evaluated under the pot conditions using tomato, Solanum lycopercicum L. at 3000 and 2000 ppm. Results showed a significant reduction in the number of galls in the roots of tomato with better plant growth in the treated tomato plants as compared to untreated control. It is suggested that these extracts can be used for the development of nematicidal products for the protection of tomato from M. incognita.
