Abstract

Field experiments were conducted to evaluate newer insecticides against sucking insect pest of potato at Agricultural Research Station, Kota, using potato variety Kufari Bahar. All the treatments significantly reduced the sucking insect pest population as compared to control. Application of diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 0.10% and pymetrozine 50 WG @ 0.06% gave maximum reduction (84.7%) with higher tuber yield (19.3 ) and BC Ratio 1.67 by management of whitefly through foliar spray. Soil incorporation of fipronil 0.3G @ 25 kg ha-1 at earthingup in potato crops gave maximum reduction of aphids, whitefly and leafhoppers and at par with cartap hydrochloride 4G @ 25 kg ha-1.
