Abstract

In direct seeded rice, the major constraint is weed control. Mostly weed control can be managed either by manual weeding or application of herbicides. Herbicides are mainly used due to fast action, lower cost and high efficacy. Therefore, field experiment was conducted to study the efficacy of herbicides and the weed management practices in direct seeded black rice. Lowest weed density, weed dry matter and highest weed control efficiency (74.1%) was recorded with the application of pendimethalin which was followed by combination product of triafamone + ethoxysulfuron resulting in higher yield and economics.
