Abstract

Bipolaris sorokiniana (spot blotch pathogen) poses a serious threat to wheat production deteriorating grain quality and reducing yields. This experiment aimed to check the efficacy of some new combination fungicides against the pathogen. Fungicides were evaluated at 50, 100 and 150 ppm and mycelia growth was recorded on the 9th day, for studying its inhibitory effect on Bipolaris sorokiniana. Highest inhibitory effect ie lowest mycelia growth was recorded from azoxystrobin + tebuconazole at 150 ppm with the mycelia growth of 5.00 mm and growth inhibition of 94.4% followed by tebuconazole + trifloxystrobin (8.20 mm and 90.9%) and propiconazole (9.20 mm and 89.7%), respectively, at the concentration of 150 ppm as compared to control. The combination of the two fungicides has given better results as compared to other fungicides.
