Abstract

Under field conditions the residues of fenamiphos persisted in soil up to 45 days with broadcast application of 5 and 10 kg a.i./ha and cowpea as crop. However, when applied in furrows at a lower dose of 1.5 kg a.i./ha and with okra as crop, the residues were detected up to 90 days. In colder season, the chemical could persist over 120 days when applied @ 2 kg a.i./ha and pea as crop. The half-life of fenamiphos varied between 5–18 days depending upon dose, method of application and cropping season. Also, following foliar spray, the residues persisted longer in colder than in warmer season.
