Abstract

Intrinsic and residual toxicity of fenvalerate was studied against the developmental instars of Epilachna vigintioctopunctata. Fenvalerate was found to be highly effective with LC50 values of 0.04 4nd 0.15 ppm against first and third instar grubs respectively. The minimum effective residual life (90% mortality basis) of fenvalerate when applied @ 0.075 kg a i/ha on brinjal crop was found to be 7.3±1.3, 6.5±1.5, 5.2±1.3 and 3.5±1.4 days against first, second, third and fourth instar grubs respectively.
