Tralkoxydim residues in soil, wheat grain and straw were determined by reversed phase HPLC. Field experiment with various rates of application (250, 400 and 800 g a.i/ha) of herbicide were conducted for three years on the same site during winter seasons. The residue from the samples of soil, wheat grain and straw were extracted with acetonirrile and methylene chloride and analysed by reversed phase HPLC. The lowest detection limit of tralkoxydim was found to be 5 ng and the recovery of the herbicide from soil, wheat grain and straw ranged from 71–80%. The three year field trials revealed no detectable amount of tralkoxydim in treated samples of soil, whet grain and straw at harvest of wheat.
