Multiresidue method for six organophosphorus insecticides (chlorpyriphos, dimethoate, fenthion, methyl parathion, monocrotophos and quinalphos) commonly used in cardamom crop as plant protection measures was optimised with GC-NPD using different columns and columns clean up. Among the various columns, separation'of all six OP insecticides was obtained only in 5% SE 30. For individual compound analysis, no column clean up was needed for chlorpyriphos and dimethoate. Either Florisil or silica gel clean up was required for better recovery of fenthion, methyl parathion, monocrotophos and quinalphos.
