Penetration of deltamethrin was studied on wheat grains and tobacco leaves under storage conditions. 14C-deltamethrin (2.5% WP) was sprayed @ 25 mg/m2. in the case of wheat, grains were stored in jute and muslin cloth bags and deltamethrin was sprayed on the surface of the bags before and after filling with grains. In the case of tobacco, dry leaves were packed in bales, covered with jute cloth and sprayed. Deposits of deltamethrin on wheat grains contained in muslin were slightly higher than in jute cloth bags. The residues in wheat grain after 30 days varied from 0.008 to 0.04 ppm in samples from bags filled before the spray and 0.2 to 0.4 ppm in samples from bags treated before filling. The residues on tobacco leaves varied from 0.004 to 0.005 ppm on 15th and < 0.001 ppm on 90th day.
