The photodegradation of acaricides such as fenson, chlorfenson and genite in homogeneous solution under ultraviolet light resulted in the formation of seven to eight degradation products, among which 4-hydroxydiphenyl was found as the major product. It is a biologically active compound having insecticidal and fungicidal properties.
