Abstract

Comparative efficacy of grain protectants viz. neem seed kernel powder 3%, activated clay 1%, fenitrothion 0.191 and fenvalerate at 0.1 and 0.2% was assessed in protecting mungbean against Callosobruchus chinensis over a period of 12 months. The following trend of effectiveness was observed: neem seed kernel powder 3% < activated day 1% < fenvalerate 0.1% < fenitrothion 0.1% < fenvalerate 0.2% based on cumulative per cent infestation of the bnichid at the termination of experiment.
