Abstract

The degradation and persistence of fluchloralin are reported in field in sandy loam and loamy soils. Pre-plant incorporation of the herbicide @ 0.67, 0.90 and 1.35 kg a.i. ha−1 showed somewhat longer persistence in the loamy soil. The half-life values in both the soils ranged between 42.4 to 45.6 days. The herbicide translocated to leaves and roots of chicory crop and was detected on the 60th d of application. It was, however, absent at harvest.
