This article deals with the community development programmes of public libraries and the role of public libraries regarding the possible ways for reaching the unreached community. Odisha state is an example for this discussion. Information literacy is the only solution for the development of any socio-economically disadvantaged community and the various community development programmes may be organised by the public libraries.
