Education is of critical importance for development. Collaborative practices in education lead to better learning practices and make education a holistic process. Collaborations in education can be of different types. Meaningful collaborations not only with industry but also with society need to be pursued and nurtured. International collaborations are also required for a global outlook. Furthermore, collaborations can be among universities/colleges and also between universities/colleges and schools. It is in this context, this paper examines the idea of school-college collaboration-its implications and impact on the teaching learning process without abrupt breaks and ruptures. Furthermore, the paper advocates for collaborative practices to be a part of the Indian education system by citing successful instances of collaborations that have taken place across the world.
