Our country India is a developing nation which is embarked on economic reforms. The development activities are taken up at all levels and the business organizations are not far in this race. The organizations are growing progressively and positively keeping in view the employer and employee inter-relationship, standing by each other not only for mutual benefit but for the company concern. Employee Engagement is regarded as a mediating value which highlights the relationship between an organization and its employees. An engaged employee is the one who is fully fascinated and passionate about his work to further the company's growth, profit and reputation. Employee engagement in Indian scenario seems to be a positive indication of work performance whereas the study may have its own insights. Hence the study explores the relationship and measures the existence level of employee engagement as regards to its various dimensions (vigor, absorption and dedication) at various job positions in technical institution of Kanpur. Henceforth this research tries to unpin those factors that establish a correlation or an impact of employee engagement on work performance. The research design is based on descriptive and diagnostic analysis based on primary and secondary data. Primary data is collected through Questionnaire method based on established research framework of employee engagement by previous researcher distributed personally to the faculty members of the institute and then compiled using statistical software. The study concludes that Over Engagement of employees in Indian work culture maynot always lead to improved work performance however the higher degree of employee engagement appears to have a positive impact on work performance in technical institutions of Kanpur area.
