A Study of Adjustment Level among Senior Secondary School Teachers in relation to Their Sex and Type of School

Abstract

Education is a human building and binding process for enhancing one's personality intellectually, emotionally and socially and to impart quality education the role of teachers become significant. The teacher adjustment level is determined by factors both personal and functional in nature. The present study is an endeavour to analyse the adjustment level of senior secondary school teachers. The present study was undertaken to find out the adjustment level of senior secondary school teachers in relation to their sex and type of school. A total of 100 senior secondary school teachers were randomly selected from different schools of Tehri district of Uttarakhand. The adjustment level of teachers measured with the help of Mangal Teacher Adjustment Inventory. 2×2 factorial design was employed with two types of schools: government and private and two sexes: male and female. The analysis was carried out by employing two-way analysis of variance. The findings of the study indicate that there is no significant difference in the overall adjustment of male teachers and female teachers and government and private senior secondary school teachers.
