The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship among Academic self-concept, Academic attributional style (Stability, Globality, and Locus of control attributions to failure) and Academic achievement motivation. The sample comprised 150 adolescents from private schools of three cities of Punjab, namely Patiala, Nabha and Ludhiana. Academic achievement motivation test (T.R Sharma), Academic attributional style questionnaire (Peterson & Barrett, 1987) and Academic self-concept scale (Liu & Wang, 2005) were used to measure Academic achievement motivation, Academic attributional style and Academic self-concept respectively. Pearson Product moment correlation and Stepwise Regression were used to analyse the data. The results of Correlation revealed that there is a significant correlation among the Academic self-concept, Academic attributional style (Stability, Globality, and Locus of control attributions to failure) and Academic achievement motivation. Stepwise regression also proved that Academic self-concept, Academic attributional styles contribute significantly in academic achievement motivation. Implications of the findings have been discussed.
