Abstract

The present study examined the role of school in shaping Big Five personality factors, Emotional Intelligence and Well Being. Besides, relationships between these variables were also investigated. The total 180 male and female students of Hindi, English & Mixed medium schools studying in IX and XI grade participated in the present study. With the help of structured questionnaires they were asked to give their responses on the measures of Personality, Emotional Intelligence and Well Being. Results were analyzed using 3-way ANOVA and co relational analysis. It was reported that students studying in different schools perceived their personality dimensions and emotional intelligence differently. Similar findings were noted for well-being and positive affect. Thus it is evident that school plays an important role in shaping personality and emotional intelligence.
