The present study assessed the personality characteristics of sportsmen and non-sportsmen. 240 male students (120 Sportsmen &120 Non-Sportsmen from the Government College, Vaishali (Bihar), participated in this study. Their age ranged between 18 to 22 years and the mean age being 19.24 years. They were administered the Singh Differential Personality Inventory. The descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The two groups differed significantly on six traits namely responsibility, emotional stability, ego strength, curiosity, dominance and masculinity, but not on friendliness, heterosexuality and decisiveness. The results are thoroughly discussed and interpreted and limitations of the study and suggestions for future research are also mentioned.
