The present study aimed to understand the perspective of romantic love following romantic heartbreak. The participants consisted of five individuals (two females, two males, and one transgender male) who had experienced romantic heartbreak at least once in their lives. At the time of the study, the participants were in the age range of23-32 years (M=27.4, SD=4.28). The participants were interviewed about their romantic love experience, their perspective on romantic love before and during the experience, and following heartbreak. They were also asked to describe their experiences of romantic heartbreak in detail. Upon transcribing and collating the data, it was subjected to Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) and the following themes were identified: prioritization of self, love as caution, love as fate, love as being conditioned, and love as communication.
