This study was conducted to determine the effects of mental toughness (MT) on suicidal ideation among adolescent student. In all, 180 Intermediate adolescents in the age range14-18 years belonging to both the genders participated in this study. They were divided into three groups on the basis of their scores on mental toughness (High, Moderate & Low mental toughness groups) scale. The High MT group showed lowest suicidal ideation followed by Moderate and Low MT groups. The differential effects of MT were found in this study on the feeling of suicidal ideation, suggesting that higher level of MT is advantageous for the adolescents to cope with negative affects and circumstances. The adolescents should be screened from the point of view of risk for suicidal ideation to help them from getting rid of negative feelings and enhancing their well-being. There is a need of developing MT among the affected adolescents to prepare them to face the problems and challenges with positive approaches. Results are thoroughly discussed and implications and limitations as well as suggestions for future researches are also mentioned.
