A study of psychological well-being among male and female students

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference in the psychological well-being of male and female undergraduate students. In this study, 200 students from two universities in the Banaras district, (Banaras Hindu University and Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth University), and 100 male and 100 female students were included as a sample study. Dr Corl Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale was used for data collection. T-test was used to find the difference in psychological well-being between male and female students. The findings of the study revealed that there is a significant difference between males and females in 5 dimensions-The name of five dimensions-Environmental Mastery, Autonomy, personal growth, positive relation with others, purpose in life, and psychological well-being dimension of self-acceptance has not been found a significant difference.
