Ethnopharmacology of Leonotis nepetifolia (L.) R. Br., Lamiaceae, used to cure Jaundice and Liver Disorders by Baiga Tribe of Mandla District of Madhya Pradesh

Abstract

The ethnopharmacological study of Baiga Tribe of Madhya Pradesh reveals that leaves extract of Leonotis nepetifolia (L.) R. Br., (LN), Family: Lamiaceae is used to cure jaundice and liver diorders. In order to establish rationale behind ethnopharmacological uses online databases and journals were searched through elibrary facilities. Ethnomedicinal uses were corroborated with chemical and biological activities. An attempt is made to check authenticity and validity of herbal drug on the basis of reported research work.
