The present study deals with the pharmacognostical investigation on stem bark of Holoptelea integrifolia (Roxb.) belongs to Ulmaceae family. This species is used traditionally for the treatment of edema, diabetes, leprosy, skin diseases, intestinal disorders and piles. Pharmacognostical evaluation such as macroscopical and microscopical characters, ash values, extractive values and phytochemical investigation of hydroalcohoic extract were carried out. Phytochemical studies shows the presence of carbohydrates, mucilages, alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, steroids, tannins and glycosides.
