The dried leaves of Ficus bengalensis were extracted using ethanol and tested for hepatoprotective activity on albino rats intoxicated with rifampicin (50mg/kg p.o). liver weight, pentobarbitone sleeping time, biochemical parameters was studied. Ethanolic extract of Ficus bengalensis leaf lowered the elevated levels of SGOT, SGPT and serum bilirubin indicating promising anti hepatotoxic activity.
