Abstract

Syndrome X strikes people in India at a younger age, sometimes two decades earlier than the global average. As a result, Indians develop health problems even when they have lower levels of belly fat than Caucasians

To assess the lipid risk factors in Diabetic and non diabetic Ischemic Heart disease patients.

Retrospective

Patients suffering from Ischemic Heart Disease

On analysis of the collected data there were more male smoker diabetics belong to border line high cholesterol in comparison to their non smoker counterparts while none of the females belong to smoker diabetic in comparison to three. Regarding high cholesterol level more non cholesterol diabetics male found than diabetic males while more female diabetic in comparison to less non smoker female diabetic. About twice number of smoker males was having 40 and above HDL in comparisons to their non smoker counterparts while more than twice number of non smoker females in comparison to their smoker counter parts belong to this category. Regarding STG more number of male smokers was having normal and border line high STG level in comparison to less number of non smokers males, while in case of females this finding was just reverse.

More Diabetics were suffering from Hypercholesterolemia in comparison to their non diabetic counterparts.
