Abstract

In the present study, the microscopical investigation of Lawsnia inermis linn has been done. The dried and powdered root of Lawsnia inermis was extracted with various solvents of increasing polarity. The thin root consists of thick undulate periderm, wide phloem, thick solid xylem, secondary phloem and vessels. Similarly thick root includes wide periderm, wide continuous secondary phloem, thick solid cylinder of secondary xylem and vesseles. The Lawsonia inermis root powder consists of vessel elements, fileres and periderm cells. The investigation is further done for its phytochemical investigation and found that the presence of Amino acids, Tannins, Phenolic compounds and organic Acids in the root of Lawsnia inermis.
