Abstract

The main target of the study was to optimize biosorption for the expulsion of arsenic metal ions from the aqueous solutions using Citrus limonium as a proficient and cost-effective biosorbent. The impact of imperative parameters pH, metal concentration, biosorbent size, and temperature and biosorbent dosage was explored. A batch investigation of biosorption was performed at pH 6, concentration 20 mg/L, biosorbent dosage 0.1 g and temperature 303 K at an agitation time of 60 min. Experimental data were considered utilizing four isotherm models. The results revealed that the Freundlich Isotherm is best suitable for the sorption process. The experimental data gave good fit with the pseudo second order kinetic model.
