In this study, we assessed the effects of scapula setting intervention on the ADL and gait in the stroke patients with hemiplegia.
Thirty subjects with stroke patients participated. Subjects were randomly divided into scapula setting intervention group (n=15) and general physical therapy group (n=15) both therapy was applied for 30mins in a day and 3times in a week for 4 weeks. The TUG and MBI was used to evaluate gait, ADL by paretic side in stroke patients. To compare the treatments, we used paired t-test and independent sample t-test.
The scapula setting intervention group and general physical therapy group showed statically significant differences before and after the gait. The experimental group showed a more significant difference compared with the control group when TUG. However, there was no statistically significant difference MBI.
The scapula setting intervention was helpful more than the general physical therapy to improve in the stroke patients.
