Abstract

Snoring is common in the general population with up to 25% of women and 45% of men habitual snoring. Snoring may not destroy sleep, but it is a common manifestation of Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA), a potentially life threatening condition. Habitual snorers can be at a high risk of serious health problems.

30 habitual snorers were selected to carry out the oropharyngeal exercises. Their snore score was recorded before and after perfoming the set of exercises.

There is a significant decrease in their snore score from (119.43±41.23) to (67.57±33.92) by the influence of oropharyngeal exercise on them.

The study displayed that oropharyngeal exercises can significantly reduce snoring and its serious health problems such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA).
