Mesoblastic nephroma (MN) is a rare benign infantile renal tumour but it is the most common renal tumor in neonates. MN generally has excellent prognosis, therefore, it needs to be correctly diagnosed and differentiated from other paediatric renal neoplasm. Awareness of this diagnosis will aid in giving proper therapy. A newborn baby noted to have a left left renal mass on antenatal ultrasound three days before delivery which was confirmed with ultrasound and computed tomography (CT) after delivery. Radical nephrectomy was performed and histopathological result revealed stage II disease and mixed type. She underwent chemotheraphy and well without tumour recurrence 20 months upon follow-up.
