Abstract

The present study is to determine the inhibitory effect of prepared Lithout tablets for their antiurolithiatic activity. In this study we used the turbidimetric model. In this model the inhibitory effect of Lithout tablets were determined by adding solution of different concentrations of prepared polyherbal formulation in the solution of calcium chloride and sodium oxalate. The absorbance of this solution was taken at 620 nm for each minute till 10 minutes. The percentage inhibition of calcium oxalate crystallization was calculated. Study reveals that prepared Lithout tablets effectively reduce the crystallization of calcium oxalate in the solution. And thus it was concluding that the Lithout tablets produce significant antiurolithiatic activity.
