To investigate of prevalence H. pylori infections in type 2 of Iraqi diabetic patients and correlated study between demographic characteristic and biochemical tests and of H. pylori infections.
Study was carried out on diabetic patients infected or non-infected with H. pylori, during period (February-July)2017,in specialized centre for Endocrinology and diabetes, study group (Patients) were included males and females with mean age 42.5±34.8 years and control group (healthy) with matched age mean, collected information from all patients by pretested questionnaires, biochemistry testes were done by enzymatic methods, detection anti-IgG of H. pylori infection by ELISA.
Out of the 185 patients of type 2 diabetes, H. pylori infection was found higher prevalence of H. Pylori infection in diabetics (38.4%) as compared to non-diabetic patients (59.4%), Also high rate of H. pylori infection among age group (35–45) years as percentage (15.6%), also incidence of bacteria in smokers, both groups (diabetic and non-diabetic) patients as percentage (19.5 and 30.5)% respectively, as well as significant increase level of IL-17 in Study Croup (Patients) as (18.2±15.1) compare to control group (healthy) as (6.2±5.1).
Higher prevalence of H. Pylori infection in diabetics more than no diabetic patients, also high rate of H. pylori infection among age group (35–45) years, and high significant level of proinflammatory cytokine-17 in Patients compare to healthy.
