Rubella knowledge among students in Baghdad city

Toassess knowledge of Paramedical Students about Rubella disease and identify factors associated with the knowledge (age, gender, socio economic status).

A cross sectional study conducted in college of Health and Medical Technology, College of Nursing University of Baghdad, Institute of Medical Technology, Technical Institute (Al-Mansur) sampling was (non probability convenient) and sample size was 325, The study started from 1st March 2015to 1st of March 2016. Data was collected by questionnaire to obtain socio-demographic information.

The result shows most of the students belongs to the age 20-24 years, and almost about (60.9%) of them were males, the majority of university students were of low socio economic status and percentage was (54.8%), and than half of students had poor knowledge about Rubella.

This study shows The factors that found signify cant association with knowledge about Rubella consist of (age, gender, and socioeconomic status), and Half of the studied items of knowledge about mode of transmission and complications items of Rubella were recorded failure assessment and Third of the studied items were recorded failure assessment for their knowledge of Rubella.
