Abstract

The craving for better delectableness in oral dosage forms makes in the emerging of a wide range of formulations with enhanced enactment and adequacy. Orally disintegrating tablets (ODT) are an incipient movement in novel drug delivery systems and gaining attraction in the market and patients. ODTs, which hastily disintegrates or dissolves in the oral cavity deprived of water. Numerous newer agents have been established as superdisintegrants viz., synthetic, semi-synthetic and natural have been engaged in creating efficient ODT. The authors in this article aimed to acme the different superdisintegrants emerged from nature and successfully tried as their properties. The authors reviewed innumerable literature from reputed journals and made a list of natural superdisintegrants tried which will be helping the researchers as a quick reference for their study.
